Porcelain veneers and crowns

What are porcelain veneers and crowns?

Porcelain veneers and crowns are ideal for restoring teeth that will be on display as they are built up using layers of porcelain, replicating the translucency of natural tooth enamel. They are constructed off premises by a laboratory using accurate impressions of the prepared tooth.

Case Study

This patient had heavily stained upper teeth of mismatched lengths, as well as an obvious crown on the UR1 which was larger and whiter than the surrounding teeth.

Patient Concerns

  • Unnatural looking crown UR1

  • Stained teeth

  • Different lengths of teeth in upper arch

Treatment Plan

  • Provide Procera (all-porcelain) crowns UR1 and UL1

  • Construct porcelain veneers UR3, UR2, UL2 and UL3

Procedure

  1. Take impressions for temporary crowns

  2. UR3 to UL3 prepared, impressions taken for final restorations and temporary crowns provided

  3. Laboratory constructed crowns and veneers cemented in place

  4. Visit to the hygienist to clean and polish all the patients teeth.

Result

An even, bright and natural looking smile.
