Implant-supported crowns and bridges

What are they?

Dental implants are the 'gold-standard' treatment for restoring edentulous spaces. These titanium posts can anchor either crowns, bridges or dentures, providing stable and long-lasting restorations that look and function like natural teeth.

Case Study

This patient had not seen a dentist for a long time and had suffered a general decline in his dentition.

Patient Concerns

  • Large gap between front teeth

  • Severely decayed posterior teeth due to cola / fizzy drinks erosion

Treatment Plan

  • Implants in all quadrants

  • Root treatments and crowns for salvageable molars

  • Composite build-ups UR1, UL1

Procedure

  1. Extract roots of failed teeth

  2. Increase bone volume in jaw with bimaxillary sinus grafting

  3. Place 7 dental implants in molar regions

  4. Restore implants with porcelain bonded crowns and bridges

  5. Root treat UL5 and crown UL4, UL5 and UR7

  6. Use tooth-coloured composite to fill gap between front teeth

Result

A fantastic transformation! This gentleman now has a very natural looking smile, providing excellent function whilst being easy to look after.
